Door to door sales scams |
||
|
Dear local residents,
Kent Police received 2 calls yesterday (Thursday 22nd January) to males posing as door to door salesmen trying to sell goods in Sheerness and Queenborough. The properties they appeared to be targeting were Bungalows where elderly residents live (Fleet Avenue, Sheerness & Foxley Road, Queenborough) and offering sales of goods saying they were from a Prison Release Scheme and trying to sell items as part of a Project.
We have identified one of these males who has previous convictions for distraction burglaries and uses a ‘door-to-door’ sales technique to enter properties. Checks have also been done and we are not aware of any official ex-offender selling schemes.
Myself and community warden Dave OSBOURNE will be at BOSUNS on FRIDAY 30TH JANUARY 2026 between 1-2pm, whereby we will be available to speak with anyone about these concerns and also to provide some ‘no cold caller’ stickers.
